Hines Birthday
In 1880, American food writer Duncan Hines was born in Bowling Green,
Kentucky. Some of his most famous books were "Adventures in Good Eating" and
"Duncan Hines Dessert Book." In 1956, Procter & Gamble bought the rights to
use his name for a line of cake, cookie, and brownie mixes.

An amateur photographer was invited to dinner with friends and took along a
few pictures to show the hostess. She looked at the photos and commented,
