In 1880, American food writer Duncan Hines was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Some of his most famous books were "Adventures in Good Eating" and "Duncan Hines Dessert Book." In 1956, Procter & Gamble bought the rights to use his name for a line of cake, cookie, and brownie mixes.
